Season 9, Episode 5: Nice incorporating The Sound of Music in a time when it was new. After being accused of being out of touch with ordinary people, Sister Julienne for a little gets out of her nun's habit and goes to see The Sound of Music. Not that I am disrespecting her as a nun but Sister Julienne looks lovely in something other than the nun's habit but then again Jenny Agutter always looks lovely.

Season 9, Episode 6: Antepenultimate episode of season 9. Sister Julienne finally breaks the news about the impending demolition of Nonnatus House and things sure looked worrying. Sad about Valerie's cousin new baby not having long to live. Things became complicated when May's mother, thought to be dead, is alive and wants her daughter back causing distress for the Turners. Definitely sympathies for everyone concerned.

Season 9, Episode 7: Penultimate episode of season 9. Moving story about a new mother, who is blind and the challenges she to face in bringing up her new child in light of her blindness and how her sister is concerned with all this. The blind mother is played by Ellie Wallwork who in real life is blind and previously saw her playing a blind character in Doctor Who: It Takes You Away.

Season 9, Episode 8: Season 9 finale. Oh my what a moment when a man was revealed to have made two women pregnant. Absolutely convincing the case that Trixie made for Nonnatus House at the council. It certainly was enough to have council to give Nonnatus House a reprieve but only for a year. So whether another miracle can still be made to save Nonnatus House would no doubt be explored in the next season.

Call The Midwife 2020 Christmas Special: Special Guest Star Fifth Doctor Peter Davison. In fact Jenny Agutter (Sister Julienne) and Fenella Woolgar (Sister Hilda) had both guest starred in Davison's Big Finishes, with the former in The Bride of Peladon and the latter in Ghost Walk. Another guest star of this Call The Midwife Christmas Special, Nickie Goldie also worked with Davison on Big Finish, in her case in Winter for the Adept & The Moonrakers. If the presence of Davison, an actor who had played the Doctor wasn't enough, it also has a Doctor Who reference with Sister Frances saying to Nurse Trixie, "Sister Monica Joan went straight to the parlour after chapel. She's waiting for Doctor Who to start". Davison plays Mr Percival the Ringmaster of Percival’s Circus who is having health problems whilst his daughter gives birth to a child. Enjoyable seeing this circus coming into Poplar amidst Mr Percival's health and his daughter's pregnancy. Sure an exciting moment when a fire took place at the circus. Fun seeing Nurse Crane become part of the act. Exciting news that House Nonnatus is expanding.

Season 10, Episode 1: Season 10 opener. Quite horrific how radiation from nuclear tests having a impact here with the birth of a new baby. Interesting Trixie's new assignment at the Lady Emily Clinic. Sad about Sister Monica Joan having a crisis of faith.

Season 10, Episode 2: Quite sad about Fiona who dies of leukemia. Shocking the truth that Trixie discovered whilst working at Lady Emily Clinic leading rightly for her to quit there and for House Nonnatus to cease its partnership with them.

Season 10, Episode 3: Dr Turner treats a young woman who claims to be pregnant. However tests proves the opposite. Instead it soon proves that she has a mental illness and quite telling the attitude to mental illness at this time. Harrowing with the expectant mother having latent diabetes. Admirable Shelagh proposing establishing Nonnatus House as a training centre for pupil midwifes, which would bring increased funding to it.

Season 10, Episode 4: Not bad this episode is set at the backdrop of the 1966 World Cup. Too bad Fred loses a bet from this game. Quite harrowing the subject of homosexuality being presented at the said time especially presenting aversion therapy.

Season 10, Episode 5: Tragic that a teenage mother loses her baby after giving birth to her, losing the baby to adoption due to the wishes of her own mother. Admirable that Tim has gotten into medical school.

Season 10, Episode 6: Penultimate episode of season 10. The subject matter that this episode brings up is not one I am comfortable with and therefore very hard to enjoy. I particularly didn't like Dr Turner and Trixie's cavalier attitude to it.

Season 10, Episode 7: Season 10 finale. Horrifying that Sister Frances found a rat in that building. What a surprise on who owns that building. Nancy removes her daughter (with the daughter believing Nancy to be her big sister) from the orphanage as she believed that she was being abused there. Fortunately Nancy got to remain in Nonnatus House afterwards. Tragic about the baby with Down's Syndrome.

2021 Christmas Special: Oh my what a swollen eye Lucille got as a result of an accident from her hen party but fortunately it got heeled in time for her wedding and it is all thanks to the use of leeches. What a harrowing situation that Dr Turner had a run-in with gangsters due to one of them with a serious neck injury and then later another falling sick under heroin. This plus the wife of a gangster is pregnant and is having problems at that front.. During this episode Dr Turner says about not being able to travel through time. Dr Turner is played by Stephen McGann and his brother Paul can travel through time as he is the Eighth Doctor.

Season 11, Episode 1: Season 11 opener. Heartwarming of Nancy telling her daughter that she is her mother. Disturbing when the remains of two babies were found and the tragic tale that was revealed about them.
