The ABC has bought the third season of the current BBC series Robin Hood: www.tvtonight.com.au/2009/05/abc-buys-more-bbc-content.html"The third series of hit drama series Robin Hood (produced by Tiger Aspect) has also been acquired. No airdate as yet." I have seen the first four episodes of season 3 already. Quite an interesting approach that has been taken following the way that season 2 ended.

The BBC has cancelled Robin Hood: www.tvtonight.com.au/2009/07/bbc-axes-robin-hood.htmlIt is understood that it is the belief of the BBC that the series has run its course. 13/9/09: Finished Robin Hood (2006-09) and I felt rather mixed and saddened by how it ends. However it does have a surprising and welcoming cameo at the end. Although not related to the BBC series Robin Hood's future appearances includes the K9 episode The Last Oak Tree In England and the movie starring Russell Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott. I haven't seen every single Robin Hood episode and movie but definitely intend to watch these two projects.

The Legend of Robin Hood Episode 1: The Legend of Robin Hood is a 1975 BBC production on the Robin Hood legend originally aired between November 23 and December 28 1975 starring Martin Potter as Robin Hood. Pretty good opening episode to the series with Potter making a sincere performance as Robin Hood.

Ben McEachen in his review of the new movie in today’s Sunday Telegraph was not impressed with it. With the heading “This Robin robs the audience” and the verdict of “Re-inventing Robin misses the target”. A criticism McEachen has made about the movie is with its length (which is at 140 minutes) saying it could have half an hour to do that. As well as being long, he also said that it was uncertain and often dull and “winds up sucking the life out of an old, beloved legend.”

140 minutes??? Too long for me!
I think what strikes me is that as a 'origins story' Russell Crowe is way past his use-by date as Robin. Had he been cast as the Sheriff, the film might have been all the better for it.

Robin Hood played by Remi Broadway briefly appeared in the K9 episode The Last Oak Tree. With the setting of K9 in the future, this Robin Hood appeared as a hologram as he was part of a programme in a museum.

Recently bought the complete series of Robin of Sherwood which originally ran between April 28 1984 and June 28 1986.
Robin Hood and the Sorcerer Part 1: Season 1, Episode 1. Pretty enjoyable first episode to the series. A good introduction to Michael Praed as Robin of Loxley aka Robin Hood and Judi Trott is a very pretty and elegant Marion.

Robin of Sherwood
Robin Hood and the Sorcerer Part 2: Season 1, Episode 2. Pretty good conclusion to the first story of the series. This episode includes the familiar archery contest. Pretty good battle sequence after Robin freed Marion from her captivity.

Robin of Sherwood
The Witch of Elsdon: Season 1, Episode 3. Coming straight after the opening story of the series this was not a bad episode about the so-called titular witch being forced by the Sheriff to infiltrate Robin's camp in return for the safety of her and her husband.

Robin of Sherwood
Alan A Dale: Penultimate episode of season 1. Good introduction in the series of the episode title character which is accompanied by the crashing of a wedding, the Sheriff’s wedding that is.
I should also note that this is the first episode that I have finished since the passing of Richard Carpenter.

Will Scarlett meets himself in the 2011 mini-series version of Great Expectations. This version of Great Expectations featured two actors who had played Will Scarlett each in a different version of the Robin Hood and they were Ray Winstone (Robin of Sherwood) and Harry Lloyd (Robin Hood 2006-09).
