Home, Again: Antepenultimate episode of season 10. Terrifying episode about the Trash Man. Sad about Scully's mother. Saddening conversation that Mulder and Scully had at episode's end.

Babylon: Penultimate episode of season 10. Guest stars Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose as virtual doppelgangers of Mulder and Scully especially with Lauren Ambrose being a redhead like Gillian Anderson. Lauren Ambrose plays Agent Einstein and claims a distant relations to the famous scientist Albert Einstein. Curiously enough when Lauren Ambrose appeared in the Doctor Who universe in Torchwood: Miracle Day in 2011 it came not long before the Doctor Who mini-episode Death Is The Only Answer which had a depiction of Albert Einstein. Interesting enough during The X-Files’ nine year run, Lauren Ambrose was in the movie Can’t Hardly Wait (1998) in which another character was said to look like David Duchovny!
On the subject of doppelganger partners, not long after watching this X-Files episode, saw Bones 11.5 Resurrection In The Remains originally shown for Halloween 2015, Angela remarked that the visiting Ichabod and Abbie from Sleepy Hollow reminded her of Bones and Booth! Also guest stars Janet Kidder who I am also seeing in her recurring role in Arrow. Janet Kidder plays a very intolerant nurse and her attempt to kill the terrorist by turning off his life support machine did not seem to make sense to the grand scheme of things except to present her intolerant nature. The episode became very trippy when Mulder got the information from the terrorist and the songs played here sure complemented well the atmosphere of this episode.

My Struggle II: Season 10 finale. After making her X-Files debut in the previous episode Babylon, Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell also turned up in this episode. For Lauren Ambrose this is the opposite to her time in Torchwood: Miracle Day. In Torchwood: Miracle Day it was about the never-ending increase in the human population with no one dying and the constant birth of new humans. In contrast, My Struggle II has the human race dying out due to a virus. In fact both Miracle Day and The X-Files season 10 ended in an open-ended way indicating that there is more to come in respective series narratives. However Miracle Day which was shown in 2011 presented the last Torchwood season so far whilst the very recent The X-Files season 10 it is far from certain at this stage whether there are more X-Files to come. If My Struggle II does indeed turn out to be the series finale then it would certainly be a sight of Scully looking up at the sight being the series last ever scene.

3.10 Red Museum, which incidentally was broadcast on my birthday December 9 1994 was originally planned as the first part of a crossover with Picket Fences and to be concluded in Picket Fences 2.10 Away In A Manger which was shown the following week on December 16.
However this crossover was vetoed by the networks concerned and while all Picket Fences references were removed from Red Museum, the Picket Fences episode had mention of events that alluded to what happened in Red Museum but no explicit references to Mulder and Scully.
Apart from the alluded references to The X-Files episode, The X-Files and Picket Fences episodes are standalone episodes completely independent of each other.
After watching the Picket Fences episode I have decided that I would not be watching any further episodes as I discovered that Picket Fences has had crossovers with Chicago Hope and frankly I am not willing to go through both series.
Another reason is that I did not like the character of Kimberly Brock (Holly Marie Combs).

My Struggle III: Season 11 opener. We finally learn Cancer Man’s name and it is Carl Gerhardt Bush. Quite a close shave on Scully’s life. What a shock when Cancer Man revealed that he, not Mulder, is William’s father. The end gives us what we all been waiting the reveal of William.
Meanwhile Gillian Anderson announced that this will be her final season as Scully.

This:
Season 11, Episode 2.
One of the Lone Gunmen, Richard Langly returns but as a virtual consciousness.
Initially there presented the possibility that the real Langly was alive along with his fellow Lone Gunmen but that would have been unfair to the other Lone Gunmen who had died back in season 9.
Interesting dialogue of how the Lone Gunmen connects to Presidents 32, 34 and 35.
Fascinating episode of what ensued when the simulated Langly first turned up and a shocking last shot of the episode.

Plus One:
Season 11, Episode 3.
At a Doctor Who facebook group a fellow Doctor Who fan noted this episode’s similarity to the 2006 Doctor Who episode Fear Her.
The Doctor Who episode had a girl making things disappear with her drawings.
With this X-Files episode it involved games of hang-man where people died in reflection of what hangman means.
A very fascinating episode about the game of hangman.
I personally have not played hangman nor thought about it in a long time but this episode sure made me not look at hangman the same way ever again.

The antepenultimate episode of The X-Files, Dreamland had a reference to The X-Files with Camille saying that she watched The X-Files growing up with Gillian Anderson as her crush with David Duchovny. Camille is played by Allison Scagliotti who is a redhead. Fellow redhead and a contemporary of Allison Scagliotti, Karen Gillan also grew up watching The X-Files and has her own praise for Gillian Anderson who is also a redhead. Karen says that Gillian Anderson as "the greatest redhead there ever was" but for me that description belongs to Karen herself. Funnily enough I was reminded of what posted on my facebook timeline two years ago on January 27 2016: www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-01-26/doctor-who-pays-tribute-to-the-x-files-with-hilarious-poster/ In fact The X-Files itself had a two-parter called Dreamland and Dreamland is the name given to Area 51.

The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat: Season 11, Episode 4. Guest stars Brian Huskey who was one of The X-Files fan Karen Gillan’s co-stars in Selfie. Huskey plays Reginald Murgatroid who says that he was agent on the X-Files but Mulder and Scully do not remember him whether this was because of the Mandela Effect as stated by Mulder or the Mengele Effect as stated by Reginald. A very funny episode as it reveals about the truth of the US invasion of Grenada, Mulder’s favourite Twilight Zone episode that never existed and the alien that was seen here.
