Released in 1969, The Body Stealers also known as Invasion of the Body Stealers & Thin Air and stars George Sanders, Maurice Evans and Patrick Allen and directed by Gerry Levy
In fact Allen gets the starring credit with Sanders and Evans being headliners prior to the presentation of the movie title as the Allen character is the one who carries this movie.
The Body Stealers is known as that as had paratroopers disappearing mid-air and ultimately it would be revealed that aliens are responsible.
Allen plays Bob Megan who is charged with investigating these disappearances and how a mysterious woman Lorna (played by someone called Lorna in real-life Lorna Wilde) comes into this.
A pretty enjoyable thriller of a sci fi mystery this movie presents especially with the revelations about the character played one of the said headliners.
Incidentally the alien spacecraft seen here is the same one used as the Dalek flying saucer in the movie Daleks Invasion Earth 2150AD (1966).
