David Collings has passed away.
Born on June 4 1940, Collings appeared in the final Blake's 7 episode Blake playing Deva.
He was also in three Doctor Who television stories in Revenge of the Cybermen playing Vorus, The Robots of Death playing Poul and as the titular Mawdryn in Mawdryn Undead.
During Mawdryn Undead, Nyssa had mistaken Mawdryn as a newly regenerated Doctor.
Collings however did get to play the Doctor as an alternative version in Full Fathom Five, an episode of Big Finish's Doctor Who Unbound series.
As well as playing that alternative version of the Doctor, Collings did other work for Big Finish including reprising Poul in The Robots series.
He previously reprised Poul in the Kaldor City audio series produced by Magic Bullet Productions.
Other Big Finish roles included The King of Sontar playing Rosato.
This story featured Fourth Doctor Tom Baker and Louise Jameson as Leela. This marked a reunion with these three actors as The Robots of Death is a Fourth Doctor-Leela story.
Other work included Danger Man, A Man For All Seasons, Out of the Unknown, Strange Report, UFO, Elizabeth R, The Professionals, The Thirty Nine Steps, Monkey (as Monkey himself), Sapphire & Steel playing Silver, Miss Marple: A Murder Is Announced & Press Gang.
He died on March 23 2020, just over two months before his 80th birthday.
