Saw Firefly alum Alan Tudyk in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. His presence in this movie is somewhat of a curio to Whedonverse fans since the movie feature vampires and vampires also feature in the Whedonverse shows Buffy & Angel but not in fellow Whedonverse show Firefly, Tudyk’s show.
So Tudyk’s presence in a vampire movie unrelated to Buffy kind of feel like a rectification of him not in the part of the Whedonverse that feature vampires.
In Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Tudyk played Stephen A Douglas who in real life was Lincoln’s political opponent. Douglas in 1858 beaten Lincoln for a Senate seat. Lincoln would get his revenge two years later when he beaten Douglas for the ultimate prize that of the presidency. Although Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter did feature the portrayal of Lincoln as President it however did not depict the Lincoln-Douglas political rivalry. It still however presented Douglas as a rival of Lincoln not in politics but that in the area of love as Douglas briefly courted Lincoln’s future wife Mary Todd, a real-life fact that certainly became useful for the film.
