I had found out that Seizure was going to be a crossover with Atlantis but Atlantis itself does not appear nor mentioned and the Atlantis characters that turned up here were Woolsey and McKay.
However the presence of Woolsey and McKay does not feel convincing enough for it to be a crossover with Atlantis considering the fact that these two characters had first appeared prior to Atlantis in SG-1. Woolsey and McKay weren’t originally written as Atlantis characters they just ended up being there.
Atlantis lead character Col. Sheppard gets mentioned but felt more like a reminder of Woolsey and McKay were in Atlantis more than anything else.
If Seizure is an Atlantis crossover based on the appearances of Woolsey and McKay but with Atlantis itself nowhere in sight then technically it isn’t the first such crossover for Universe since Col. Samantha Carter, a regular in both SG-1 and Atlantis had turned up in Universe in the previous season.
Stargate Universe has been said to be like Star Trek: Voyager so it was somewhat fitting that a Voyager alum Robert Picardo (Woolsey) gets to be in Universe in this episode.
It is rather disappointing that Picardo and David Hewlett (McKay) gets credited under the bland guest starring label. Given their long contributions to the previous two Stargate series they should have been given Special Guest Stars credit.
Playing the Legaran Ambassador was Victor Garber. Garber had played a spy in the Alias TV series.
In Seizure the tables are turned on Garber as he and his people are the ones who got spied on by the Destiny crew.
The Rush-Amanda Perry romance in the simulation ultimately becomes a threat to Destiny.
However this threat to Destiny along with the presence of Woolsey and McKay was not enough for Seizure to feel like a special event episode that I expected it to be.
Basically a very ho-hum affair.
