With the Sydney Sunday Telegraph yesterday got for free A Sesame Street Christmas Carol and got this in the lead-up to the Doctor Who version of the classic tale.
Among the movies reviewed in At the Movies Summer Special was The King's Speech in which David Stratton mentioned that Derek Jacobi is in it as the Archbishop of Canterbury but no clip of him from this movie was shown. Both David Stratton and Margaret Pomeranz each gave this film four stars.
Also reviewed was Another Year with Jim Broadbent. Both David and Margaret each gave this film three and a half stars. It also featured an interview with Broadbent.
Framed: In Torchwood: Out of Time, Eve Myles and Mark Lewis Jones had some scenes together. In Framed however they had only one but no dialogue with each other. Other Doctor Who guest stars to appear in Framed were Robert Pugh, Nina Sosanya and Margaret John. Framed was originally shown in 2009 and had Robert Pugh in a small village. A year later he would be in another small village when he appeared in Doctor Who: The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood. Vincent Van Gogh’s Sunflowers is seen here. Wonder if Amy’s name is on it. Framed plays on the confusion between the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the artists they were named after. I certainly was not expecting this movie to remind me how the turtles got their names. As for this movie although it is not a bad one I did feel uncomfortable viewing for lots of parts of it.

Saw Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie yesterday and as mentioned before it featured the voice of Simon Pegg. The music was from David Arnold and the visual effects done by The Mill.
Pegg and Arnold were contributors to the Eighth Doctor era.
Simon Pegg was a guest star in the season 28 opener Invaders from Mars and Arnold composed the Eighth Doctor era version of the Doctor Who theme tune.
ABC2 showed the last two episodes of Edge of Darkness last night and each of these two episodes featured a Blake's 7 alum. The penultimate episode Northmoor featured Charles Kay, Ian MacNeice, Hugh Fraser and Blake's 7 alum Brian Croucher. The final episode Fusion which originally shown on my birthday on December 9 1985 featured Kay, McNeice, Fraser, Zoe Wanamaker and the other Blake's 7 alum David Jackson.

In Nick Dent’s review of The King’s Speech featuring Derek Jacobi and Michael Gambon he gave it the verdict of “The pick of the Boxing Day releases” and four and a half stars. In his concluding sentence he wrote that it ”can be proclaimed loudly a and confidently and with no hesitation: this is a great movie.
Also reviewed was Life During Wartime featuring Shirley Henderson. Dent gave the verdict of “Distasteful ruminations from the movies’ Mr Twisted” and three stars.
On 7mate saw Knight Rider: Knight Flight to Freedom which featured a fake execution from a firing squad. Originally shown in February 1986 it came almost two years after similar fake execution in the first cliffhanger of Caves of Androzani.

In Revelation of the Daleks (1985), Orcini was played by William Gaunt. Almost two decades earlier Gaunt had been regular in The Champions. There are snowy conditions in Revelation of the Daleks which was something the production team did not foresee and therefore it is coincidental to the fact that a lot of the first episode of The Champions took place in the snowy mountains of the Himalayas.
Out of the Unknown: To Lay A Ghost featured Peter Barkworth, Clifford Cox and Walter Randall.
Also saw the one-off TV play The Prodigal Daughter featuring Charles Kay.

The Sanctuary mid-season 3 finale The Hollow Men last night on Sci Fi felt like The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood only this time it is a human civilization not a Silurian one that is living deep underground.

Yesterday on ABC1 watched The Gruffalo and it included the voice of James Corden.
Later in the night saw the 2009 Catherine Tate Show Christmas Special. The title "The Catherine Tate Show" was absent from the credits and it was simply titled Nan's Christmas Carol. Catherine Tate's former Doctor Who co-star David Tennant appears here as the Ghost of Christmas Present. Funny how the previous Doctor and his redhead companion in a non-Who Christmas Carol a year before the current Doctor Matt Smith and his redhead companion Karen Gillan appeared in the Doctor Who version of A Christmas Carol. Also appearing in Nan's Christmas Carol was Roger Lloyd Pack as the Ghost of Christmas Future and Lloyd Pack was David Tennant's co-star in Doctor Who: Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel. Overall Nan's Christmas Carol was not bad.

Last night on Christmas night watched Miss Potter on ABC1 which featured Bill Paterson, Phyllida Law, John Woodvine and Geoffrey Beevers.
After Miss Potter came The Graham Norton Show on ABC1.
This was the latest episode of The Graham Norton Show fast tracked from the UK and it was on the ABC in the last couple of nights first on ABC2 then on ABC1. The show also guested Little Britain stars and Big Finish guest stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams. On this show it included a clip of Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol, Matt Smith telling of a funny occurence involving fan mail and a couple of audience explaining they would make a good Doctor's companion.
Matt Lucas and David Walliams were on the show to talk about their new comedy series Come Fly With Me and the clip shown here included an appearance by Menna Trussler. Quite bizarre seeing Matt Smith together with Matt Lucas and David Walliams. This is because Matt Smith's predecessor as the Doctor is another David, Tennant while the other David and Matt, Walliams and Lucas are comedy partners. Almost two lots of Davids and Matts in the same room.

Nick Dent reviewed the latest version of Gulliver’s Travels featuring Catherine Tate as Queen Isabelle. Dent did not like this movie as he gave it two stars and the verdict of “A big, lumbering movie for tiny viewers only.” Unfortunately he also says that Catherine’s talents has been completely wasted in this movie.
ABC1 began rerunning The Forsyte Saga: To Let, a 2003 four part mini-series which follows on from The Forsyte Saga remake series from the previous year. Appearing in all four episodes was Michael Maloney

A couple of days ago finished watching My Super Ex-Girlfriend which was on Go ! recently and had a shark being in the open air making an attack at someone's place.
This comes less than a week after a similar situation was seen on ABC1 in Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol.
Also yesterday finished watching Predators with music from John Debney.
